Part of our looking after your wellness and helping you feeling younger and better about yourself is the aesthetic clinic service we introduced last year.
As we age, our bodies stop producing collagen and elastin, both of which contribute to smooth, youthful skin. As a result, skin starts to sag and droop, and wrinkles make their unwelcome appearance. Fortunately there is a minimally invasive treatment available to smooth out those lines, without having to go under the knife.
Cosmetic injectables provide real, noticeable results with no surgery, and no recovery time. The injectables reduce the activity of the facial muscles that cause frown lines and crow’s feet to form over time. Effects are seen within 48 hours, and last for several weeks to months. See our products and services here.
Cosmetic injectables are widely available, but if you want the best experience and outcome, you should turn to your doctor – for a number of reasons.
For a start, cosmetic injections require a prescription. Anti-wrinkle injections are relatively safe. But they’re not entirely without risk. A trained, qualified medical doctor will assess your medical history, your current health, and your desired outcomes, and prescribe an injectable best suited to your needs.
Secondly, while injecting aesthetic medicines is minimally invasive, it does require a strong knowledge of anatomy. The face is made up of hundreds of muscles, blood vessels and nerves, and placing the injectables correctly requires a detailed knowledge of anatomy.
Third, though cosmetic injectables are considered safe, any medical procedure involves some degree of risk. Complications can range from mild irritation, to skin eruptions, facial drooping, and in very rare cases, life threatening allergy. In the rare event that something does go wrong, a doctor will be able to treat the patient immediately.
Finally, the doctor’s office is a safe, clean environment, and that means that the risk of infection is greatly reduced.
When you’re considering cosmetic injectables, research is key, and our Dr. Tarrin Weigelt, would love to help you with your research. She’s passionate about aesthetic medicine and more than happy to answer any questions you may have, and you can book a FREE Q&A session with her.
